While our doors may be closed due to COVID-19, we are still here for you. We want you to know that we are so thankful for each of you being a part of our Morris Orthodontics family. Our number one priority during this time is ensuring that your orthodontic care and smile transformation continue successfully. We want you to feel comfortable knowing:
• Dr. Morris is available Monday – Thursday, 8 am to 5 pm and Fridays from 8 am to 1 pm. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call us at 615-431-2787 or send an email to admin@morrisbraces.com. We will respond to you as soon as we possibly can.
• Our office is open for emergency appointments. Since the definition of an orthodontic emergency is slightly different during this time, just give us a call. Dr. Morris will be able to help you on the phone or meet with you for a virtual appointment. If your emergency requires his attention in the office, we will schedule a time to see you.
• If you are a new Invisalign patient waiting on your first set of aligners, or a current Invisalign patient waiting on your next set of aligners, your treatment will still be able to proceed. We have established appointment times for pickup of your aligners that do not involve any person-to-person interaction. We will be reaching out to you individually to determine your pickup time. Dr. Morris will also be available to meet with you virtually, to establish proper fit and provide specific instructions.
• If you are one of our braces patients, we will be evaluating your treatment chart and reaching out to you individually to assist you in making progress with your care.
• If you had a previously scheduled retainer check that was canceled, or an upcoming appointment, we will be reaching out to you to schedule a virtual consultation.
• If you have lost or broken your retainers and need a replacement, please give us a call. We’ll arrange a time for you to drop your molds off at the practice in a safe and enclosed location and will follow up with your new retainer.
• We will be reaching out to our Growth and Development patients with canceled or upcoming appointments, in the near future. Based on your individual smile, we will determine if it’s ideal to schedule a virtual consultation with you now, or reschedule your appointment in the future, when it’s safe to see you in person.
• If you had an appointment that was canceled or have an upcoming appointment that requires an in-office visit, we will be reaching out to you to reschedule your appointment, when the government and American Association of Orthodontists determine the date it is safe to begin seeing patients again. Please know that we always go above and beyond the Standard Precautions for Patient Care and Infection Control established by the CDC. We will not only continue to do that when we reopen, but will take additional measures that are appropriate during this time.
• Be on the lookout for an email from us with helpful tips for how to continue your smile progression, based on aligners, braces, expanders, etc.
• When we do reopen we’ll be adding a number of additional days to the schedule in order to accommodate our Morris Orthodontics families. Sadly we were closed during many ‘braces-on’ and ‘braces-off’ appointments. One patient even sent me a message saying, “I really think that getting my braces off IS an emergency!” We completely understand and we’ll be working tirelessly to get you in as soon as safely possible.
The health and safety of our patients and our team are of the utmost importance. The consequences of the virus are absolutely devastating for many families and our hearts break for all affected right now. Almost every extended family has been touched by this virus already, including our own. But we have faith that we’ll all be able to take something positive from this situation, and our hearts are full seeing our community pull together to support each other. Please reach out to us if we can somehow make this time less stressful for you. We are here for you!
“Thank you” to our first responders and medical professionals on the front line. You have our most sincere gratitude and admiration. You are selfless and compassionate heroes and we all sleep better at night because of you! We are in awe of your strength and courage and appreciate everything you do for our community.
Sincerely,
Dr. Morris
